The School of Business and Social Sciences is a broad business school and is one of four main areas (faculties) at Aarhus University.
With approx. 14,000 full-time students and several thousand part-time students, almost 225 PhD students and more than 500 academic staff, the School of Business and Social Sciences is one of Europe's largest business schools and Denmark's largest university unit in business and social sciences with a large academic breadth.
The School of Business and Social Sciences had a desire to make student lockers available to those students who had a need for storage.
The school wanted a very flexible system where students could rent a box with their student card, and at the same time a locking system that could work with their existing access control at the school. Blika solved the task by using electronic locks from a German manufacturer. The locks can e.g., be set to open automatically after school year to accommodate new students.
The cabinets are made with both white laminate doors and black painted MDF doors according to the architect's wishes.
The cabinets have both been delivered as wall-mounted, as well as with a special high closed plinth, to give exactly the desired expression on the part of the architect.
